Queen Street Pilot Project, Studio Weave
Queen Street Pilot Project, Studio Weave: “

Studio Weave are an inspiration to young designers. Their projects are brave and exciting and maintain a real freshness within design. The ‘boomerangs’ used in the Queen Street Pilot Project are taken from a large collection of units that can be assembled to create amazing fluid structures. The original goals of the boomerang structure included: ‘ bringing attention to an underused opportunity, to highlight the unique qualities of space, or provide play structures which utilise the space in a different way.’ The structures command the space they are situated in with magnificent ease and provide a very interesting sculptural element, whilst maintaining a level of practicality by providing seating.
Studio Weave
These are interesting and engaging pieces of street furniture. They are great ‘perching spots’, rather than for prolonged periods of swating, as comfort is not their strongest quality. Having met the partners of Studio Weave at Shifring Sands, I seemed to have gained a new found liking to their work! They are a couple of young Architects who run the studio from their living room! Come on guys……. who’s up for ‘Studio Landscapeis’?!!”
