The Free Library

The Free Library

Exhibition co-curated with Mark Owens at M+R Gallery, London.

The Free Library was originally shown at The Riviera Gallery in New York and at Space 1026 in Philadelphia. It travelled to M+R Gallery in London in September 2005. The concept for the exhibition, by Mark Owens, is loosely based on La Chinoise by Jean-Luc Godard. It turns the gallery into a functional space where visitors are invited to spend time and browse the books, beanbags, pinboard, etc.

Participating designers and artists at M+R were: Åbäke, Stuart Bailey, Sebastian Campos, Daniel Eatock, Paul Elliman, Experimental Jetset, Lizzie Finn, Ryan Gander, Jason Gnewikow, James Goggin, goodwill/Will Holder, Wyeth Hansen, Jon Hares, Steven Harrington, Gemma Holt, Michael & Laura Leon, Mevis & van Deursen, John Morgan, Andy Mueller, Reala, David Reinfurt, Alex Rich, Todd St. John, Ryan Waller, Hanna Werning and Rory Wilson.
