Google Does Shakespeare - Google Earth Files Available: ”

Globe Theater in Google EarthRecently Books created a dedicated web site to the works of Shakespeare which includes the complete plays available for viewing online. It also includes links to searches in the Images, Scholar, Groups, and News. They even mention that if you download Earth you can find the famous location in England where Shakespeare’s original plays took place - the Globe Theater, as well as a model of the theater. But, they don’t provide a link to the model. You can find the Globe Theater in the 3DWarehouse here. (NOTE: if you have installed the new Earth V4 beta, download the V4 model of the Globe Theater which has textures - this makes it look more realistic). If you look at the location without the model you can see there is a real replica of the building in the aerial photo of the location and lots of tourists checking it out. There is also an excellent collection of placemarks showing the places quoted in Shakespeare’s plays which I wrote about last fall.
