Lots of people (and Engadget) have been talking about the GPS
Coke can. It’s been getting security people all over the country up in arms. It’s a cell phone GPS that calls Coca
Cola when you press the button. (To award your contest prize.) Well, today I found Xray images of the can online and
Engadget just posted that. Here’s the
entire PDF file presentation comparing the GPS
Coke can to an improvised explosive device (IED). What’s notable is that the insides of the can, which contains a
battery, cell phone, antenna, and GPS device, looks very much like a bomb to the lay-person. Seeing these pictures
shows the subtle difference. And the included close-ups of the outside of the can are very helpful. Until now, Coke had
only released a couple of shots of the can in the traditional 3/4 side view.
